Conjured Activism

conquering the world one oxymoron at a time

May 29, 2004

Wuhoo! An entry finally. The school year came and went, and now I’m sitting at home relaxing for the summer. Ryan went to Taiwan with his mom and cousins, so I haven’t talked to him since mid-May, so I’ve been missing him a lot. Ali and Amanda came to visit in Charleston, too, and we did some shopping together. I want to buy some skirts to wear in Europe, so I don’t look too out of place with shorts and the like.

Ryan, myself, Paul Bui, and Breaki are going to Europe for about a month of so starting mid-June. That will be a fun trip, no doubt. We’ll be going some key places, sure, but I really want to do this day trip into Morocco. Ryan really wants to see the running of the bulls July 7. We’re also gonna go to Athens, where I’ve never been before! Too bad the British stole all the artifacts and put them in the British Museum, but I guess the original structures are still there.

After getting back from Europe, I’m going to go to Weaver’s wedding in Richmond. Hard to believe that he’s getting married … second out of our class, I think. Bobbie was the given first, being Mormon and all :)

A funny thing, a lot of Governor’s School kids are going to graduate school, more so than the national average. Of course, I’m headed up to MIT next year. It looks good on paper, but I’m really pretty apprehensive. I don’t think I’ll like it that much. But i guess i’ll keep an open mind, since I really didn’t want to go to UVA … but ended up loving it so much. Ryan will be at BU Law next year, so we’ll literally be right across the river from each other. How that worked out, I don’t know. Luck, and a little bit of planning :)
